Policy and Procedures
KEY DOCUMENTS FOR ALL STAFF :
Training & Compliance
All staff are required to keep their mandatory training up to date as a condition of employment and to meet CQC regulatory standards. Some courses must be renewed annually — including Fire Safety, Moving & Handling, Basic Life Support, Medication Administration, and Infection Prevention & Control. Others are required every three years, including Safeguarding Adults, Safeguarding Children, Mental Capacity Act & DoLS, Equality & Diversity, and Data Protection. The Oliver McGowan Training on Learning Disability and Autism is a statutory requirement for all staff. If your training is due or approaching expiry, please speak to your line manager or refer to the timetable below.

Staff Wellbeing and Support
Inclusive Care Options is committed to promoting the health, safety, and wellbeing of all employees. The organisation recognises that working in health and social care can be physically demanding and emotionally challenging. It is therefore important that staff are able to access appropriate support to maintain their wellbeing and continue to work safely and effectively.
Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
The organisation provides access to the Aviva Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), which offers a confidential support service for employees. The EAP includes access to counselling, legal advice, and financial guidance. Employees may access this service by calling 0800 015 5630.
Occupational Health Support
Employees who are experiencing physical health concerns, emotional distress, stress-related symptoms, or mental health difficulties that may affect their ability to work should notify Clinical Lead Ryan Spears. Where appropriate, staff may be signposted to occupational health support or other relevant services. All concerns will be handled sensitively and, where possible, confidentially.
Stress and Burnout
The organisation acknowledges that prolonged pressure, high workloads, and the emotional demands of care work may contribute to stress and burnout. Employees are encouraged to raise concerns at an early stage with their line manager or relevant contact so that supportive measures can be considered. Early identification and intervention are important in helping to protect staff wellbeing and maintain safe standards of care.
Peer Support
Inclusive Care Options recognises the value of supportive working relationships. Staff are encouraged to access support from colleagues, line managers, supervision sessions, team meetings, and buddy arrangements where these are in place. A culture of openness, respect, and mutual support is promoted across the service.
Additional Wellbeing Measures
The organisation may also support staff wellbeing through:
-
regular supervision and wellbeing discussions
-
debriefs following difficult incidents or shifts
-
informal check-ins by managers
-
buddy support for new employees
-
signposting to external support agencies and wellbeing resources
-
consideration of flexible working arrangements where operationally possible
Staff Responsibility
Employees are encouraged to take reasonable steps to look after their own wellbeing and to seek support promptly where needed. Staff should also raise concerns where they believe stress, fatigue, or ill health may affect their own safety, the safety of colleagues, or the quality of care provided.
Management Responsibility
Managers are responsible for fostering a supportive working environment, monitoring staff wellbeing where concerns are identified, and signposting employees to appropriate internal or external sources of support.
